Support High School Students Studying the Environment!

This week we're spotlighting Caroline Morris, a junior at Fieldston School in NYC that is dedicated to raising both funds and awareness for the environment.

This past year, Caroline partnered with the New Visions Charter High School for Advanced Math and Science II (AMS II) in the Bronx, raising over $30,000 from generous donors like you. This allowed five students to attend the Columbia Climate School in the Green Mountains in Vermont during the summer of 2022.

2022 Update from Caroline Morris

Thanks to your generosity and that of others, I was able to raise $30,000 to send five AMS II students to the Columbia Climate School summer program in the Green Mountains of Vermont last summer. The school had a vetting process and assisted the selected students with their applications. I was able to meet with the students before they left and then again when they returned. They had an amazing experience and have been inspired to start a Go Green club on environmental education and awareness.

Additionally, they want to start a composting program at school and explore the possibility of building a garden. We discussed doing a joint project with the New York Restoration Project, which manages community gardens in the city, where the students and I could work together to help maintain a garden in the South Bronx.

Join me in making a difference

I have started an initiative to help provide summer enrichment opportunities for under-resourced high school students in New York City who are passionate about the environment and climate advocacy.

Partnering with Putney Student Travel/Columbia University’s Programs for High School Students, I am raising $12,000 to cover the tuition costs to send several students from the New Visions Charter High School for Advanced Math and Science II (AMS II) to the Columbia Climate School in the Green Mountains in Vermont during the summer of 2023.

Give Back

Your donations will help further New Visions for Public Schools' mission to improve urban education in New York City through programming that prepares students for success beyond high school. You'll also be helping to develop future environmental leaders!

Last year, I was able to raise $30,000 to send five students to the Columbia Climate School during the summer of 2022. I hope you will help me meet that same goal this year!

Thank you for considering a gift to help the next generation of environmentalists!
