Standardized Test Prep:

Freudigman & Billings uses a unique approach to test preparation that focuses on critical thinking, applied reasoning, and problem solving strategies.
"We do not teach to the test – we teach through the test to help students develop an awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses and build skills that will serve them not just for the standardized tests, but throughout their academic careers and beyond."
We help students understand fundamental principles about how the world of information is organized and how they can interact with that information. This process does not involve the rote memorization of vocabulary or inundation of practice questions that many associate with standardized test preparation. Instead, we focus on teaching students effective strategies for gathering, sequencing, categorizing, and classifying information from text and visual sources. These processes contribute to a student’s ability to reason, solve problems, make inferences, and draw conclusions.
Our system combines our expertise about these cognitive skills with our knowledge of the construction of each test to develop strategies that will best serve a wide range of students. We offer preparation for elementary and middle school students taking the SSAT, ISEE, and HSPT, high schoolers tackling the ACT, AP, SAT, and SAT Subject Tests, and college students studying for the GRE, LSAT, GMAT, and MCAT. We tailor each student’s plan to their individual goals and abilities, from high achievers striving to unlock the top level of problem solving to those struggling with visual or language processing, focus and attention, or test anxiety.
